Valentina Conchie is a figurative artist who works primarily in painting, photography, and collage. A self-taught artist, Valentina creates a vibrant fusion of contemporary visuals, blending elements of folklore, Neo-Primitivism, Naive, Psychedelic and Pop Art. She has developed a distinctive and recognisable visual language, characterised by her signature retrospective female portraits. Initially inspired by her interpretation of Kabuki masks, her central character evolved into a vivid heroine, journeying through various adventures and accompanied by allegorical creatures symbolising different phenomena, characters, or events. Many of Valentina’s works are given human names, adding a deeper narrative layer to her art.

Being a mother of two, Valentina draws inspiration from the genuine positivity, imperfection, and humour children bring to their creations. This influence adds spontaneity and playfulness to her work.
